Ingredients
- 3 parts “solid” oil This is any oil that is solid at room temperature. Shea butter (available in our health and wellness aisle) and coconut butter are good bets.
- 1 part “liquid” oil Any type of oil that’s liquid at room temperature. Sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, jojoba, argan, or olive oil work really well.
- Scents This is up to you and your imagination. Since this is not a scrub that will be washed off, we recommend sticking with essential oils or flavor extracts that can easily be absorbed into your skin.
Preparation
Heat the ingredients slowly in a double boiler until all of the oils are liquified. Transfer to a mixing bowl, and chill until the mixture is just starting to solidify. Use a hand mixer to whip the body butter until it’s the consistency of whipped cream. Transfer to a small tin or jar.
