Willy Street Co-op plays a vital role in the Madison community by adhering to our mission of cultivating and empowering the community, customers, employees, and suppliers through cooperative principles and practices. Our vision is to be a local community partner that nourishes a sustainable, accessible, and equitable food system where everyone can participate.
The Co-op is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, reflecting the values of the community it serves. We actively participate in community efforts, such as the Community Reinvestment Fund, which has contributed over $555,000 to local nonprofits and cooperatives since 1992. This fund supports developmental and educational projects that align with the Co-op’s focus on food, nutrition, well-being, sustainable agriculture, cooperative education, and social change.
Moreover, Willy Street Co-op engages in charitable giving and disaster relief, working for the sustainable development of Madison’s communities. Our involvement goes beyond financial support, as we also provide a platform for community events, classes, and educational initiatives that promote a healthier and more connected community.
