We have a few things lined up in honor of Pride Month: we are donating $200 each to the five Community Shares of Wisconsin member-organizations dedicated to working for LGBTQ+ civil rights: Fair Wisconsin Education Fund, Freedom, Inc., GSAFE, Orgullo Latinx LGBTQ+ of Dane County, and Outreach Madison. (Freedom, Inc. has a Pride event coming up.) They, along with almost 70 other local nonprofits, benefit when you CHIP at the Co-op.

We know of two brands we carry that are donating part of their sales to LGBTQ+ causes. There may be more – if you know of any, please let us know!

  • Eight percent of the profits from Montucky’s Pride Cans go to LGBTQIA+ organizations in Midwest and Mountain states but the only Wisconsin one was in Milwaukee. We contacted Montucky and asked if it would be possible to get Outreach Madison added to the list and they responded with an enthusiastic yes! They also offered to donate an extra $1 per case sold at Co-op stores to Outreach until 7/9. Thanks, Montucky! Learn more here.
  • MamaP gives 5% of sales or all their products to support causes they believe in, and 5% of sales of their MamaP Equality Toothbrushes go to The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ and young questioning individuals under the age of 25.

And you may have already seen these at the stores or around town. We’ve debuted our new bumper sticker using the “Progress” Pride Flag designed by Daniel Quasar. These bumper stickers are available for free by our customer service desks in our stores.
